PROGRA

(aka) THE PROGRAM

The Program has been designed specifically for professionals, entrepreneurs & students with the purpose to connect to Allah by way of systematic spiritual coaching. This 90 day program centers around 3 areas:

SPIRITUALITY

Developing spirituality is not an easy process when one is busy with life. This section of The Program has been designed for fitting in deep moments of introspection upon one's rank with Allah and reflecting on matters of the heart like Love of Allah, Repentance, Hope in Allah's mercy, etc.

Format: Downloadable Audio via app.

Primary Text: Madarij as-Salikeen (Ranks of the Divine Seekers) by Ibn al-Qayyim & Others

PRACTICALITY

One of the most underutilized tools for gaining nearness to Allah are the daily actions of a Muslim. Many of us may do some of the actions from the prayer to the daily zikr but without connecting them to the heart, these actions become empty. In this section we delve into the daily actions of the Prophet (sws) and their spiritual realities.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Composing and implementing a personalized Islamic spirituality plan through consistent one-on-one guidance. This is The Program's most unique feature and pushes one to accomplish clear objectives in one's spiritual journey.

Week 1

Spirituality

Introduction to the Purification of the Soul

Under this topic we will be looking at what is the "Soul" (نفس)  and what does it mean to "purify" it. We will also be touching upon consciousness and one's true reality being spiritual as opposed to only physical. In other words, what does it mean to be "you" or what makes you, "you"

practicality

Prophetic Planning

In this section, we will be charting our day by using guidance from Imam al-Ghazali.  Making a plan for ones day that revolves around ones spiritual health while not neglecting work, school, family, etc. is an important first step in the spiritual journey to Allah.

accountability

12 Week Personalized Plan

Over the phone or Skype, the student will discuss what spiritual or practical goals they would like to achieve over the next 12 weeks.  A personalized plan will be set up with benchmarks and consequences.

Week 2

Spirituality

Vitalities of the Heart: Sincerity (الإخلاص)

The journey to Allah starts with sincerity.  In this section, we analyze the state of our hearts and explore the nature of our actions.  We also look at the opposing diseases of the heart like Riya' (showing off) and Suma' (wanting people to hear about your deeds).

practicality

Blessed Mornings

In this section, we will be covering the morning hours in the life of a Muslim.  What are the best times to wake up, do these change based upon season and how can we achieve the maximum spiritual blessing of the morning hours as working professionals?  We will also cover explanations of the supplications of the morning and how they are tied to the heart.

accountability

Week 3

Spirituality

Corruptors of the Heart: Arrogance (الكبر)

Arrogance is one of the greatest corruptors of the heart and what makes it scary is that no arrogant person thinks they are arrogant.  In this weeks spirituality section, we take some time to introspect and look within ourselves to identify potential areas of arrogance.

practicality

Secrets of Wudu

In this section, we will be covering something that most people don't think much about: Wudu. Yet, Wudu has deep spiritual connections with living a blessed life and having a focused prayer. In addition to Wudu, this section will also cover the explanations of the supplications taking a bath, using the toilet, putting on ones clothes for the day, etc.

accountability

Week 4

Spirituality

Vitalities of the Heart: Reliance (التوكل)

As we venture through busy work days we sometimes forget about our natural state of impoverishment before Allah and this may cause us to think we are self sufficient.  In this section, we look at the concept of taking the practical means to accomplish things while having a heart that trusts and relies upon Allah.

practicality

The Power of Fajr

In this section, we will be covering the benefits of the Fajr prayer along with exploring the meditative states of the prayer and its effect on the heart.   In addition to Fajr, this section will also cover some of the etiquette's of leaving the house to start ones work day.

Corruptors of the Heart: Love for the World (حب الدنيا)

The Prophet (sws) advised to be in this world like a traveller or a stranger.  This world can be a source of great joy but at the same time, if one is not careful, it can delude a person.  In this section, we look at how to balance desiring this world with the ultimate goal of reaching the hereafter.  This section also covers the spiritual station of "doing without" (الزهد)
